From a school principal to building a wellness brand

I never planned to become an entrepreneur. My name is Swati Seth Gupta, Founder of NexGen Health & Wellness. With a Master's in Psychology, a background in Mass Communication and Education, and further learning in Acupressure and Nutrition, my journey began in a very different world — as a School Principal.

Life later brought me into the wellness industry as Regional Manager for a leading massage brand in Rajasthan. Working closely with customers, I began to understand not only the business, but what people truly needed. And then came a realisation that changed everything: customers were not just trusting a company — they were trusting me.

That trust gave me confidence. I could also see clear gaps in the market — limited products, rigid pricing, too little flexibility. So in 2013 I took a leap of faith and founded NexGen Health & Wellness, with a simple vision: better products, greater choice, competitive value and dependable service.

The journey was not easy. As a mother of two, I was balancing children, home, family and the demands of building a business — through financial pressures, changing markets, demonetisation, competition and COVID-19. But every challenge taught us to adapt, to rethink, to evolve, and to come back stronger.

Today, NexGen has grown into a broader wellness ecosystem — advanced massage chairs, wellness equipment, therapy services, corporate wellness solutions, rentals and relaxation experiences. Our ambition is clear: to build NexGen into one of India's most trusted wellness solution providers.

For me, growth is no longer only about business. Having experienced the challenge of balancing family and ambition, I now actively encourage women to restart their careers after a break. At NexGen we strive to offer a flexible environment where women can rebuild confidence, grow professionally and still manage their family responsibilities — because a woman should not have to choose between family and ambition.
